An SSD needs a network bridge
An external SSD normally speaks USB to one connected device. It does not create a Wi-Fi network by itself. To turn it into Wi-Fi storage, connect it to hardware that can mount the drive, join your network and present the files to approved devices. That bridge can make the same SSD visible to a phone, tablet or laptop without repeated cable swapping.

SSDs are quiet, compact and less sensitive to movement than spinning hard disks. They are a strong fit for working files, travel libraries, phone backups and a small home media collection.
